Thinking of coming to see us? Here are the answers to the questions families ask most. If there's anything else on your mind, pick up the phone, we're always happy to have a chat.

Where are you based?

We are based in Ilkeston, on the border of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. It is about 20 minutes from Nottingham and 25 minutes from Derby town centre.

Do I have to make a booking?

Yes. All shoots are booked in advance for a time and date that suits you. Just give us a call and we will arrange one.

How long does a shoot take?

A studio session lasts around 60 minutes, with plenty of time for wardrobe changes and different backgrounds.

Is there parking?

Yes, we have a free customer car park. Head down Belper Street (one way) and you will find the studio on the right, about halfway down, with a sign that says The Old Mill Photography Studio. Use the first car park on the right.

How much is a shoot and what do I get?

Get in touch and we will talk you through the session and what is included. We are always upfront about pricing before you book, so there are no surprises on the day.

Can I bring friends and family?

Absolutely. We love a busy studio, the more the merrier. You are welcome to bring pets too, as long as they are on their best behaviour.

What should I wear?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. We suggest casual, fairly neutral clothing rather than bold patterns, spots or brand names, which can date the photos or distract from faces.

What products do you offer?

We have a beautiful selection of frames, metal prints, block mounts, canvases and floating frames, all displayed around the studio so you can see them in person.

How much do products cost?

Prices vary by size and finish. Get in touch and we will give you a clear quote.

How long until I see my photographs?

We edit down to the very best images and then call you to arrange a viewing, usually within 7 to 10 days.

Do I have to buy the photographs?

No. There is no obligation to purchase. If the images are not for you, that is fine, though it is not something we see often.
